June 1999
Aware of the success of the Ivory Coast Academy venture, the President of the Republic of Madagascar, Mr Ratsiraka, is hopeful that such a project could see the light in his own country.   The “Bolloré” Group, already a close contact of the Academy in Abidjan, is involved and, with the approval of the Malagasy authorities, conducts a study in order to set up a similar venture in Madagascar based on the same principles:  “to recruit, unite and form an elite football team in Madagascar but also to commit to moulding the players into as decent and well-educated men in everyday life as they are high-performing and competitive on the pitch”.
The “Ny Antsika-JMG” Academy is placed under the technical authority of JMG Academy as Trustee of the Training and Management Expertise of this project.
